Baguio: Strawberries, Cold Weather and Paradise

Being a tropical country, the people in the Philippines, may they be tourists or locals, find ways to cool themselves down. That’s why thousands flock to the coldest city in the country: Baguio. You won’t just cool yourself down, but you get to experience all its attractions and not to mention some of the best strawberry jam there is.

Getting to Baguio can be quite a struggle in return for paradise. From Manila, you have to ride a bus for 8 hours and that’s not the bad part. Since it’s located high up in the mountains, you have to endure hours of zigzagged paths making your meal useless. Once you’ve thankfully arrived, check in to any one of the various hotels and inns available, just make sure that you booked ahead of time, it’s a very popular destination.

Baguio is famous for their delicious strawberries and jam. Tons of strawberries are sold almost anywhere you look, but a better way to have them is of you pick them yourself. Take a ride to strawberry farms that’ll give you the chance to pick these succulent little hearts from their soft branches. We suggest a farm simply called “Strawberry Farm,” grab a basket and pick as much as you want. Keep in mind that they do cost somewhere around 350 pesos per kilo. A little expensive, but you can’t put a price on that rare and extravagant experience.

There’s a lot more to see in Baguio, so why not see them on horseback? You’ll go on so many amazing and challenging trails like the Santo Tomas Mountain, Green Valley and Crystal Cave. Alongside each and every one of these trails are attraction which you can capture with camera. All the places you can go and you won’t even be tired!
