Drink Away to Belgium’s Beer

Belgium has so many varieties of beer, you could go crazy just by choosing. Having approximately 180 breweries and even more varieties, you could never go wrong. All over the country, no matter where you go, beer will always be a huge hit. Known as the top beer country in the world, the top beers bellow will satisfy you whether you’re beer expert or just a really big fan of beer.

Hoegaarden (5%), one of the best among wheat beers. Despite its cloudy appearance, its actually one of the most refreshing beers fit for a hot summer’s day. It has a rich history too, long ago it was so unpopular that it almost went extinct. After some time, it caught the taste of the younger generation and is one of the most popular today.

Leffe which is brewed in Leuven is extremely popular, though many had stated that it’s a little gassy. Generally malty and strong in flavor, it comes in two varieties. The bright, fragrant and orangey Leffe Blond and the dark and aromatic Leffe Brune.

Rodenbach is located in Flemish town, they produce reddish brown ale in multiple varieties, and the best ones were aged in oak containers. Their most famous and plentiful is Rodenbach, a tangy brown ale with some sourness. Another is their not so plentiful and kind of rare Rodenbach Grand Cru, fit for those who want something with a little more sourness. Lastly is Orval, known as one of the most distinctive malt beers in the world. It has a lovely amber color, a little bitter but in a good way and it makes an amazing aperitif.
