Over the past few years, Southeast Asia has seen a growth in tourism. With over 104 million international arrivals, travel to Southeast Asia continues to be a top contender on bucket lists around the world.

So what do you need to know prior to jumping on a plane to travel in Southeast Asia? Maximize your enjoyment by taking advantage of these travel tips and tricks.

1. Consider Your Health

Prior to any kind of international travel, you should always educate yourself on the types of vaccinations you need. Each country has a different vaccination list in order to protect you as a tourist from any types of illness you may encounter while there.

4. Be Smart

It goes without saying that you should use your head when you travel. Remember that even though you’re a tourist in a new country, you should still respect the locals, the customs, and the traditions of each country. Prepare yourself for any situation that may come your way and arm yourself with the knowledge to know what is and is not appropriate.

5. Learn the Language

You don’t have the be fluent in order to enjoy your trip to Southeast Asia, but learning a few phrases or keywords will make your interaction with the locals more fun. This can be a great way to get to know the people who live there while truly immersing yourself in the culture. Not only this, but it can be helpful when asking for directions or even the restroom!
