Fall in Love with New York City for Less

A beautiful way to visit the United States is still to start in a capital of commerce and industry, New York City. But in a City full of wonderful services and tourism sites, it is easy to break the bank. Here are a few ways to save money, while traveling to New York City in style.

Coupon Passes

Before you go, there are several popular coupon books that allow you to redeem them at hot tourism sites! Pick one up in your home city, that has vouchers for New York City, and see the tourism sites you want, at a bargain. These often bundle several of the sites together, so you will be able to save on viewing many sites in a shorter time. Plan your trip well before you go, and find the travel directions between sites ahead of time, so you know which will be the best fit for you and your trip. Also, don’t forget to check the expiration dates, you may be able to use the unused coupons on your next vacation as well. Spend a little money up front on a coupon passbook, and get tickets to the tourism sites at an incredible discount.

Order Your Plane Tickets Far in Advance

Airfare is an expense that is difficult to navigate, so plan ahead and save the money where you can, by pre-booking. Booking your trip on off-peak travel dates will also help you avoid fare hikes for high tourism times of year. Compare several booking sites online, and rewards programs, and you will be able to make an educated decision, well before your trip. Pre-booking your flights ensure that you have enough time to budget the rest of your trip, and will enable you to take the most advantage of an airline’s lower cost travel options. Remember to check on baggage fees, customs issues, and passport renewals to make sure your trip to the United States goes smoothly, so you can spend your money on the vacation instead of extra fees.

Avoid Taxi Cabs – Using the Metro like a New Yorker

When traveling in New York City, think like a New Yorker, and buy a metrocard. Depending on your length of trip, you can by a weekly, or even monthly card to save on each individual fare. Almost everything in the City is accessible by metro transit, so plan to use the metro instead of paying for a taxi cab. Pack light, and ride the metro with ease, to any destination, tourism or otherwise. If you decide to take a taxi cab to during your visit, or car service ‘livery cab,’ make sure you ask the fee in advance of your ride. If you are traveling to the airport, cabs must use a flat fare, and you have the right to request it in advance. Make sure you budget for daytrips you will need a cab for, and daytrips you may be able to ride the metro for entirely. Maps for the subway are readily available in most bookstores globally, as well as online and in neighborhood stores in New York City. Think as a local, and you will be able to save considerable quid literally by walking on your own to fee to the metro station nearest you.

Plan Meals Along the Way

New York City, home to some of the best and most interesting cuisine on the planet, can also be a costly place in which to dine. Plan which meals you would like to splurge on, and which you would like to be more conservative.Splurging on occassion is fine, and don’t be afraid to take advantage of paydayloansonline.com for those special occasions. Packing snacks to take along to trips to the Met, a sandwich to eat at the top of the Rock, can be an easy way to avoid high-priced cafes at museums and tourism sites. Follow the locals, granola & a bagel from the grocery for breakfast, grab a street-sandwich for lunch, and have a luxurious dinner the same evening with all the money you saved by avoiding tourist trap eateries and congratulate yourself for eating smartly abroad.
