A Week in Ireland: Best Trips and Activities to Experience

So you have decided to travel to Ireland for your vacation and you want to know, what next? Well, we are going to tell you just that. A week is just about enough time to find out and see the best of what Ireland has to offer. Here is our quick guide to the best trips and activities to experience in the Emerald Isle. Take a look!

Connemara

One of the best places to visit in the west of Ireland is County Galway’s famous Connemara. Situated on the west coast, overlooking the Atlantic, it is without doubt one of the world’s finest, unspoilt landscapes. If you happen to be visiting Galway City, you can venture to Connemara on a short bus journey for a cheap fare. Among the best landmarks in this Irish speaking region include the Twelve Bens Mountain Range, the Roundstone Bog and the amazing views of the wild Atlantic Ocean. Connemara is home to a few small traditional Irish villages, the best place to capture the essence of old Ireland and the country way of living in the Emerald Isle, a truly special experience. An attraction you shouldn’t miss is Kylemore Abbey – an enhancing castle.

Dingle Peninsula

We suggest you take a trip to Ireland’s southwest and explore the Dingle Peninsula or CorcaDhuibhne as it is often referred to. The Dingle Peninsula is home to some of Ireland’s favorite tourist destinations, take a boat trip to explore the famous Blasket Islands, steeped in a world of culture and Irish history, or why not visit Fungie, Dingle’s resident dolphin that has been attracting visitors to the town for nearly almost three decades. The town of Dingle itself is one of Ireland’s most fun places to visit, it is littered with traditional Irish pubs, craft shops and seafood restaurants, what more could you want? Its stunning scenery comprises of Brandon Bay, Mount Brandon, Ireland’s second highest peak and some of the ruggedly wonderful coastline in the world.

Killarney

There is an untold amount of things to do and see in Killarney, the list is endless. There is always something going on in this colourful town and the locals are guaranteed to make you feel most welcome. If you are here on a golf trip to Ireland, Killarney Golf Club will not disappoint. Its stunning location and wonderful clubhouse facilities guarantee a trip to remember. Other spectacular attractions in the town include Muckross House, Ross Castle, Torc Waterfall and Ladies View. Wander around Killarney’s famous National Park, take a boat around the lakes or to Inisfallen Island. After all that, why not wander into the town to enjoy some traditional Irish music in dance in one of Killarney’s notorious drinking establishment. Sounds like a good day all round!

We hope you will enjoy your stay in Ireland and for sure you will want to come for more. Apart from the capital of Ireland – Dublin – those are places you should not miss on your travel list. Happy travelling!
