Wintertime in Sochi, Russia

The city of Sochi in Russia is a resort town of the country. It is a unique city within the country through its subtropical climate, with a backdrop of scenic Caucasus Mountains and some vegetation which is loved by many vacation-goers. Sochi is not only famous for its temperate and tropical weather but also a destination for international sporting action. The city will host the upcoming 2014 winter Olympics and is starting formula 1 grand prix in the city. And by the year 2018, it will host the FIFA world cup along with other cities. The sporting action in Sochi is a spectacle for any sports fan, and planning a visit to Sochi is a priority especially choosing the right time and events. Going to Sochi is easy by air into the Adler-Sochi International Airport. And to have more comfort is going there by jet charter, the Monarch Air Group travels one into Sochi with efficiency and privacy to all fliers in having a wonderful journey into the city.

Sporting Action

By the year 2014 the world will witness the spectacle of the winter Olympics which will be played in the city of Sochi. The winter Olympics is an international sporting event for winter sports. And in Sochi the flames of the Olympic will rise above the city and welcome visitors to witness the grandeur of the event.

Sochi is on the stage of its final preparations for the upcoming Olympics. Visiting it now is like watching the actual games because the city will showcase the opening of several venues and attractions that will cater to visitors during the spectacles. The venues to visit are the First Olympic Stadium for the opening and closing programs of the games, then there is the Bolshoi Ice Dome for hockey, and the Ice Cube for curling action to name a few.

As the winter Olympics approaches in Sochi, the tour packages are on the rise. And for those looking for a luxury comfort, they will surely be delighted with many hassle free packages. Though it may cost a bit much, but the excitement and thrill will definitely be present during the games. With a right tour package one will see the amazing show of talents and camaraderie combined in sports.

The events that will mesmerize many are of the figure skating, curling, and speed skating. While the more intense sports of hockey, luge, and snowboarding will set one’s heart pumping for rush of adrenaline.

Sights and Sounds

Sochi is not only catering sports, but rich historical and cultural backgrounds as well. And touring the many landmarks is also a must thing to do in the city. The Maritime Terminal is an icon of the city as it promotes Sochi’s naval trade. The terminal has four statues representing the cardinal direction, and a tall spire as its exterior motif. Another site to visit is the Dendrarium that has subtropical plants that made the city a destination.

And to feel the vibe of the city is to visit and see many fine buildings notably of Stalinist architecture. The Stalinist is a form of architectural mainly for the likings of Joseph Stalin. To see the Stalinist buildings is a treat for any visitors.

Sochi Culture

Sochi has many spectacles to offer besides the sporting events. And this includes the cultural aspects that could be found in arts, such as stage shows that showcase the rich cultural background of the city. The Hall of Organ and Chamber Music has concerts every year with international and Russian performers. Also a great way for entertainment is the Winter Theatre for a beautiful sound of the music.

Going to theatre is an alternative way of exciting activity especially during breaks of games in the Olympics.
