The Philippines is a country whose origins, history, and culture are firmly rooted in the heritage of its people’s forefathers. Filipinos are renowned all over the globe for their friendliness and hospitality. They are a highly educated, accommodating, and fun loving people. For years, the fascinating islands of the Philippines have become a popular tourist destination not only because of the amazing sights and sounds of the country’s more than 7,000 islands, but also because of its people, whose ability to speak and understand the English language fluently and proficiently has made them very easy to communicate with.

Panagbenga Festival

A trip to the Philippines is almost synonymous to being on a trip to an island getaway, with countless beautiful world-class beaches such as those found in Boracay and Panglao. The country is also known for its excellent diving spots, namely those in Bohol, Cebu, Puerto Galera, Subic, and Coron Bay. You can even go swimming while exploring the enchanting caves and some of the majestic underground rivers of Palawan and Bolinao, Pangasinan. Next, uncover the secrets of the many volcanos in the Philippines, such as those in Albay, and most popularly, in Taal, Batangas, where a lake sits in the middle of a volcano which stands in the middle of a larger lake! Adventure seekers can also visit the mountains of Baguio and explore the untouched beauty of nature at its finest. Come visit the country and become witness to many of the Philippines’ colorfully extravagant festivals that Filipinos religiously celebrate all throughout the year. See the excitement as the people of Cebu celebrate their Sinulog festival, or the Masskara Festival in Bacolod, the Panagbenga Festival of Baguio, the Ati-atihan Festival in Kalibo, Aklan, and the Moriones Festival in Marinduque.

Feel free to visit the nation’s historic capital city of Manila. Located along the east coast of the Manila Bay, it is one of the biggest and busiest cities in the Philippines. In the 16th century, Spanish navigator Miguel Lopez de Legazpi declared Manila as the capital city of the Philippines in 1571. Prior to this, Manila was considered to be a commercial center for many centuries. De Legazpi built a fortress in the heart of Manila, known today as Intramuros, or “walled city”. Today, Manila features a myriad of world-class hotels, high-rise buildings and gourmet restaurants that serve the finest local and international cuisine. Manila is also home to some of the country’s most popular shopping malls, where families get together to see a movie, have a family dinner, or simply shop for new clothes and shoes. The city also has some of the country’s hottest nightclubs and discos, where the local party scene never seems to stop.

Underground River Palawan

Truly, the Philippines is a destination worth visiting. Both the nature loving folk and the urban city adventurer will surely enjoy their stay in the country where tradition and technology meet. Visit the Philippines and enjoy the wonders that the Pearl of the Orient and the Treasure Islands of the Pacific have in store for you.
