A Weekend At The Land Down Under

Australia/Destinations/Travel Tips
A Weekend At The Land Down Under

Work is an integral part of one’s life. You could be working on your own business or working for someone else but, at the end of the day, the usual and constant hustle and bustle of the city life can inevitably get to you. Fortunately, there are a number of ways by which you can deal with burnout, one of which is taking a vacation in some idyllic place. Now, if you happen to be a fan of the beach and surfing, one place that you might want to try is Australia.

Know as the Land Down Under, Australia is located at the Pacific Ocean within the vicinity of Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and East Timor. What most people know as Australia is actually the Commonwealth of Australia and includes such smaller islands as Tasmania, Green Island, Crocodile Island, Tiwi Island, and Quail Island, to name a few. Considered as one of the largest countries by land, Australia also boasts of being one of the wealthiest countries in the whole world. Most of the residents in this country are from British and Irish lineage having come from the British Isles.

Because of its land area, it is no surprise that Australia has one of the liveliest tourism industry with thousands of tourists flocking to this country every year. One of the top places these tourists head to is Sydney, where one can find such tourist attractions as the world-renowned Sydney Opera House, the Jenolan Caves, and the Darling Harbour marine aquarium, among many places. Perth comes second to Sydney as a choice for tourist destination. Within Perth, one would find the Stirling Gardens, the Perth Mint, the Lake Monger, and the Western Australian Museum.

If Sydney and Perth are not to your liking because of its fast-paced way of living, you can also head to Tasmania, especially if you would like to get away from the usual humdrum of city life. This is because Tasmania boasts of a number of beaches and lagoons as well as mountains that are great for hiking. In the same line, the Fraser Island is also a good getaway for those who love the beaches AND the wildlife. Fraser Island is known as the haven for some of the most popular endangered species in Australia.

For those who want a quieter way of spending their evenings, Australia also has some of the best places to try your hand in a round of poker. However, if you happen to be the shy type, you can also go for online poker sites like 888poker. This would allow you to stay within the comfort of your room while making sure that you make the most of your hotel stay. There are also a number of sites, somewhat similar to 888poker that you can head to in order to play online games.

Of course, Australia also has something for the food lover. All across Australia, one would definitely find hundreds of restaurants lining up the streets, each with its own cuisine niche. So whether you are hungry for home or simply would like a taste of what other cultures have to offer, your taste buds would not be lost.
