Satisfy Your Creative Side at Design District

Established in 2005, Design District in Helsinki brings together hundreds of creative business and inspiring people. Each store, restaurant, hotel, showroom and museum comes with their own story and way of expressing them. Now, Design District is comprised of 25 streets and 200 spots on the map. If you’re afraid to get lost, don’t fret because there are tons of guided walking tours that lasts for an estimated 2 and a half hours.

Luckily they have multiple routes that guide you to just what you might be looking for. New living room route where you can find the biggest and smallest furniture. The designs and themes focus on Finish and Scandinavian design with just a hint of India.

Sustainable design shopping local food route takes you through streets and shops with various sustainable products and delectable dishes made from local ingredients. Classics are forever route are filled with the most famous Swedish designs like Marimekko, Iitttala and Artek. Not to mention all those potential and up-and-coming designers.

Diamonds and other fancy things route is perfect for all those who want to see a girl’s best friend and second best friends: diamonds and jewelry. A bunch of shops will present their fancy creations, if you’re a little tight on cash it’s no issue at all. You’ll find anything from innovative fancy stuff made from recycled materials to those that possess real stone.

Creative Sunday route presents you with the perfect galleries to choose from, you can even get a snack while you’re at it. Manly shopping tour route will give men the treasures that they need. Yes MEN, just when you think that the shops will only interest women. Anything from vintage treasure to international high-end fashion, just the masculine thing you need.
