After his film “Pirates of the Caribbean,” Johnny Depp fell in love with the laid back atmosphere of the Bahamas and decided to purchase Little Hall’s Pond Clay for a whopping $3.6 million dollars.
According to Depp, the 45-acre piece of island in the picturesque Exumas serves as his sanctuary if he wants to return to living a normal life and escape from the limelight. The actor revealed that his island will exclusively be powered by solar energy. Among his guests in the island was the formerly troubled Lindsay Lohan. Depp even referred to his property as F**K **F Island.
Little Hall’s Pond Clay is composed of six different beaches named after Vanessa Paradis, his previous partner, their children Lily, Rose, and Jack, mentors Hunter Thompson and Marlon Brando. There’s a “patch of water” called Heath’s Place named after the late Heath Ledger. He named one of the beaches after Paradis because it had the same contour as her lips.
The several small residences on the island will run on solar power and the means of transportation will be a fleet of green golf carts. Depp reveals that the island named after his mentor Hunter Thompson is the “most savage and exposed” among the beaches.
When not swimming or feeding sharks, Johnny Depp spends his time on the island painting or playing the guitar. Among the people he started painting are Kerouac, Bob Dylan, Nelson Algren, Marlon Brando, Patti Smith, Paradis, and his children. He painted his mentor Hunter two times already. He loves painting people’s faces especially their eyes because it’s his way of revealing their emotions.
Set in the Exuma Land and Sea Park regions of the Bahamas, Little Hall’s Pond Clay will be the breath taking setting of his upcoming marriage with long time girlfriend Vanessa Paradis. Insiders close to the couple revealed that the wedding will be small and intimate and will include barbecue and limbo dancing complete with live music provided by the actor’s friends.
Little Hall’s Pond Clay has served as the cornerstone between the relationship of Depp and his fiancée with the couple retreating to the island when their schedules permit it for some rest and relaxation.
