Exciting Sports for Your Cyprus Holiday

So you’ve decided to head to the East Mediterranean for your next Holiday, specifically Cyprus. A member state of the European Union since 2004, this island nation is closely affiliated with both Turkey (its closest neighbor) and Greece (which it has been affiliated with for thousands of years). Thanks to its relatively mild climate, it has become a holiday hot spot (especially in the summer), and boasts excellent facilities for water activities, in addition to championship golf courses, winter snow fun in the Troodos Mountains (with hiking and mountain biking in the other seasons here, as well as on the Akamas peninsula). Its great value to travel to Cyprus with online booking agents so see what deals you can get and lets check out the wonderful things you can do. Scuba Diving There are a lot of different things one can choose to do in Cyprus’ sea. One of the most popular, due to the clear water, is scuba diving. Cyprus houses several five star diving schools on the island, and are all skill levels are welcomed. An excellent diving opportunity for those advanced scuba enthusiasts is the Zenobia Wreck Diving Site, a ferry that capsized on her maiden voyage […]

Mexico is a firm favourite among travellers because of the sheer variety it offers. There is something for everyone and because the country is relatively cheap, it’s easy to have a great time here even if you’re on a tight budget. Many people who visit Mexico head straight for the resorts along the coast. However, it would be a shame to miss out on the treasures of the capital. Top 4 Tourist Destinations in Australia

Australia
Top 4 Tourist Destinations in Australia

Australia is the largest country in the world, which is also considered to be a continent. It is also the only country in the world that is home to kangaroos. Kangaroos roam in Australia from their wild habitats to the cities, where they brush shoulders with locals. Although located on the farthest east of the globe, Australia still receives visitors and tourists from all over the world. Most of the people who come to Australia come here to see the kangaroos, for shopping as well as for educational purposes. If you are visiting Australia for the first time, then here are some of the must go places; 1. Cairns Cairns is a phenomenal nirvana in north Queensland. It is home to two of the natural wonders of the world, the great barrier reef, which is a huge reef made of coral that stretches in over 30 million hectares in the coastline of Queensland. This is itself a wonder because, how can a reef cover so many hectares of land in the shoreline, is it a protective reef? Well, you can find all about that yourself by visiting cairns. One of the oldest tropical forests in the world are also found […]

Packing Tips for Airports in China

Packing Tips for Airports in China

A diplomatic word on airports in the People’s Republic of China: a few are not up to world class standards just yet (ok, maybe more than a few). Some of this is understandable. China has 1.35 billion people. The country’s demographic chart looks like a Space Shuttle contrail. And then there’s China’s economy. Average annual GDP growth from 1980 to 2010 was 15.8%. Kung Pao chicken isn’t that hot. Big Trouble in Big China The point is that China, more so than any other robust, industrialised nation-state, has to confront some odious infrastructure imbroglios. You can imagine the discussions over at the Politburo. Do we invest in the Three Gorges Dam or expand the Port of Shanghai? Build the Danyang–Kunshan Grand Bridge or invest in the Three-North Shelter Forest Program (aka the largest artificial forest in the world)? Expand Beijing’s underground or build a high-speed railway from Xining to Lhasa? The answer, time and again, has been “Yes!” and “Yes!”. Let’s do it all, in other words. The chickens have home to roost on that score, however. China is just too big and too vast to get it all done yesterday, let alone today. And this is where the country’s […]

Hungarians show the world how to travel cheaply!

Hungarians show the world how to travel cheaply!

Last month Visit Britain released its most recent sets of figures for global visitors to Great Britain. There were no huge surprises but the general trend is up. Our best customers in terms of frequency are our nearest neighbours: France and Germany but when it comes to the most valuable markets we still look across the pond to our American cousins! However all of these markets pale into insignificance when we look at those individuals who spend the most amount of money! When it comes down to average spend per visit the undisputed kings of cash are the Kuwaitis who spent over £4,100 per visit in 2012. This was a massive increase on anything achieved previously either by the Kuwaitis or any other country ever – it makes you wonder whether the purchase of Nottingham Forest Football Club by Kuwaiti businessman Fawaz Al Hasawi was included in the figures! *** Image credit: Simon Harding Here are the top five – no matter what souvenirs they took home with them! • Kuwait – £4136 • Indonesia – £2519 • Saudi Arabia – £2342 • Oman – £1950 • Qatar – £1870 At the other end of the scale the list is […]
