Top 3 Mistakes you should avoid that can badly hit Your DIY Budget Travel Planning

Most holiday goers look forward to a memorable retreat on budget whether it is a weekend trip to unwind or a long summer trip. Most of the people tend to make their budget plans in order to save money as well as maximize the fun. But now, with the increase in the price of almost everything, from airline tickets, currency exchange charges, extra luggage charges and other similar things which can make the trip much costlier than expected.

However, if you are prepared from the very start, these problems can be solved in minutes. However, it would require you to plan ahead and conduct your own research so that you can manage any problems in the way of you having fun to the extreme. So, it is vital for you to be prepared for all kinds of possible caveats and emergencies while on a budget travel! Therefore, while planning your trips, be it a small one or a big holiday trip, you need to keep in mind a few things which can make your holiday a truly enjoyable one while still saving a lot of money. Here are 3 top mistakes to avoid if you want to travel on a tight budget.

Finding and Consulting a Reliable Travel Agent

Most budget travelers never consult a travel agent just because they want to avoid paying commissions. What they do not realize is that the help of such an expert is essential for safe and hassle-free travel, especially for a cruise or adventure travel planning. As a budget tip, you can hire your own friend who knows the ins-and-outs of the destination you are about to visit.

Packing Only What is Essential

How do you feel if you are being charged for your extra luggage at the airport? Do you feel cheated? But then, there is no one who has cheated you except for your ignorance. It’s high time to stop overpacking as it has many costly consequences: Paying extra fees, hiring a really cheap transportation as crowdy trains cannot be your option, and climbing up to the third floor of your small budget hotel where there is no lift. Oh! What a hit! Budget does not mean saving money but it also means saving efforts and time for a smart traveler. So, pack only essential things and 50% of the less essential items. Why take the bulk that make you sulk?
Exchanging Big Currency in Destination Country

It is okay to do some currency exchange at local bank, train station, or airport for transportation and other non-deferral expanses but do not make big exchanges at these places. This is because they charge higher premiums than the destination country where you can enjoy lower rates with your debit or credit card.
