Conquer Poland’s Tatra Mountains

Destinations/Europe/Travel Tips
Conquer Poland’s Tatra Mountains

In Poland, you can discover the highest and the most alpine out of all the mountains, the Tatra Mountains. Sure the Alps is an astonishing beauty on its own, but many have looked to the Tatra Mountains instead. Actually, almost everything you look for in a mountain can be found here. There’s the breathtaking view, scenic valleys and relaxing lakes. Of course the place and the trails provide a perfect place for skiing, hiking, mountaineering and such; the highest summit being Mt. Rysy.

Hikers from the most experienced to the beginners can find the perfect setting to enjoy the mountains. You can choose from the 275 km of marked trail, don’t worry because there are indications for the various difficulty. Keep in mind that the color marks on the trail doesn’t signify the difficulty, it actually indicate the routes. The best time to hike is around 8am, be sure to check your equipment and supplies for water, food, jumper, etc. For the extreme adventurers, a path called Orla Perć will be perfect. Take note that it is considered as the most dangerous path in the whole Tatras. People have lost their way and their lives in this path, so avoid it if you’re not an expert tourist, hiker or climber.

The Tatra Mountains also provide a haven for the climbers. Though there are certain rules to follow and climbing is only allowed in some regions on the rock faces. Also, all the climbers are required to write, in details, all the information in their hiking plans; the book is called “Book of the Climbers Departure.”
