If you’re spending time on holiday in Lanzarote, you’ll need to know the best places to cool off. Lanzarote temperatures are often around 20°c even in the run up to Christmas, and can reach 30°c over the summer months. If you’re staying in a villa then you might have your own swimming pool, and you’ll want to make the most of it in between your visits to local attractions and your time on the beach, but did you know that Lanzarote also has some fantastic water parks for a fun and refreshing day out?
Hotel Water Parks
It’s worth noting that a majority of water parks in Lanzarote are little more than a hotel swimming pool with a few slides and water features. These might not sound impressive, but you’ll benefit from lower entry prices and they’re usually big enough to keep you occupied all day. Some hotel water parks are free to enter, and if you’re a hotel guest then you’ll have access to the hotel pool every single day. Two of the biggest and best hotel water parks are Aqualava and Dino Park:
Aqualava
The Aqualava Water Park used to be exclusively for guests at the Lanzasur Club in Playa Blanca, though it’s now open to the public. There are lots of activities for children, making this a great family water park, with the Timanfaya and Magma River rides providing entertainment for older children, teenagers and adults.
Dino Park
The Dino Park is another hotel water park in Playa Blanca, and is open to the public as well as being available for hotel guests. It’s at the Paradise Island Aparthotel and has flumes, multi-lane slides and an activity pool for younger children.
Aquapark Costa Teguise
Hotel water parks are great, but if you want a bigger experience then it’s worth visiting Aquapark in Costa Teguise. It’s the only Lanzarote water park that isn’t a part of a hotel complex, which means that there’s even more space for attractions and rides. Aquapark has thrill rides, children’s rides and activity pools, with plenty for babies and toddlers as well as older visitors.
In addition to pools and water rides, Costa Teguise’s Aquapark has on-site restaurants and shops. Whilst Dad supervises the kids, Mum can take a look around and see what’s on offer. Aquapark also includes an on-site adventure park where you can book a paintballing session if water rides aren’t your thing.
If you’ve booked a week or a fortnight in Lanzarote then it’s unlikely that water parks will keep you occupied for the entire holiday, but they’re definitely worth a day or two of your time. The whole family will enjoy them, and you’ll be able to buy your food on site.
