When is the best time to visit Africa

When is the best time to visit Africa

It all depends with why you want to come to Africa to choose the best time. Like they say, anytime is the best time to come to Africa. This is because the weather is favorable all year round, and depending with your preferences, you can make the best out of this amazing black continent. Most people come to Africa for sightseeing, others for educational and research purposes, and some for business meetings and ventures. Depending with what you want to do in Africa, here are some tips on the best time to visit.

1. Weather (rain or temperatures)
We all understand that Africa experiences extreme hot weather a few months of the year. This however depends with the country you are visiting. If you plan to visit morocco or countries within the Sahara desert, you should then expect extreme hot temperatures during the day and freezing cold at night, all year round. However, countries within the equator and south experience a more favorable climate. January, February and august are the hottest months in these countries. This means the sun is scorching hot and you might not want that. The other months are ok to visit. Rainy seasons also pose a major threat to some tourists. This is because most roads are not all weather and are mostly murram roads. Even four wheel drive cars may find it difficult to navigate through. Some people seem to enjoy this fact and love it when a car gets stuck in Africa.

2. Best time to save money
If you want to travel against the budget and want to save every dime, then try visiting Africa in low seasons. Most tourists come to Africa, especially east Africa in December and April, and these are the times when airfare is almost double, and booking a hotel room can be hectic. The rest of the months are considered low seasons and you can come in at low airfare and even make a hotel reservation cheaply in 5 star hotels. However, low seasons come in when it is rainy, and travelling may be a challenge especially when visiting national parks. This however provides a clearer view and more fun for outgoing persons.

3. Best time for sight seeing
The time between December and March are the best for sightseeing in national parks and game reserves. This is also the period when tourism is in high peak, and when the 7th wonder of the world happens when the wildebeest migrate from Serengeti in Tanzania into Kenya. You can enjoy the beautiful scenes as well as watch other animals in these parks during this time of the year.
