I’m kinda stress with so much projects in school, so I’ve decided it’s time for another getaway. I cannot go to Switzerland as it’s costly and the weather might not permit me to have a great view of the “top of europe” so, I went to Germany.

Here’s my itinerary.

PART 1: BERLIN

 Prague to Berlin

(3 Nights)

Berlin Wall  – (S1towards Berlin-Frohnau, 2 stops, 3mins, get off at S1towards Berlin-Frohnau, walk to Berlin Memorial , 2 mins, 190m ) FREE

Berlin: The Holocaust Memorial –(S-Bahn S1 Berlin Nordbahnhof, towards Berlin Wannsee, 5mins, 3stops, get off at Berlin Brandedburger TOR, 4min, 400m) FREE

Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor) FREE

Reichstag Building (by walk) FREE

To go back to Hostel

U55towards S+U Berlin Hauptbahnhof, 1 min, 1 stop, transfer to S5 Berlin Hbf (S-Bahn) towards Berlin-Spandau, 10mins, 5 stops, get off at Berlin Charlottenburg

 

 

2nd Day

BMW Museum(Take u8, and get off at Petreuling or Olympiazentrum station)..( €6)  – walking

Olympiapark (Ubahn u3, u8,Olympiazentrum) FREE – walking

Marienplatz (take  S6 München Marienplatz station, 6min, 4 stops) FREE

new town hall munich (München Marienplatz station) FREE

St. Peter’s Church(München Marienplatz station) FREE

theatine church munich (Ubahn – Odeonplatz U4) FREE

english garden munich (Universität, Giselastr & Münchner Freiheit) FREE

nymphenburg  palace (from English Garden, Take Tram Tivolistraße 18 towards Gondrellplatz 9 min, 6 stops, get off at Isartor, transfer to Tram 16 towards romanplatz, 24 mns, 16stops, get off at Romanplatz, walk to nymphenburg palace 11 min 1km) ( €6.5)

To get back to hostel

From nymphenburg palace , walk to Schloss Nymphenburg 8min, 650m, take tram Schloss Nymphenburg 17 towards Schwanseentrase, 8 mins, 7 stops, get off at Marsstrase, walk to hostel 1 min 89 min

4th Day 

Neuschwanstein Castle (Take the train (www.bahn.com) to Füssen, then the bus RVA/OVG 73 in the direction to Steingaden / Garmisch-Partenkirchen or the bus RVA/OVG 78 in the direction to Schwangau until you reach the stop Hohenschwangau / Alpseestraße.  (€ 11.00Entrance Fee)

Or walk to marsstrase, take tram 17 towards Schwanseetrase 4 min, 3 stops, get off at hopfenstrase, take Bahn from München Hbf Gl.27-36 towards to Fussen, 1 hour and 6 min, 13 stops, then the bus RVA/OVG 73 in the direction to Steingaden / Garmisch-Partenkirchen or the bus RVA/OVG 78 in the direction to Schwangau until you reach the stop Hohenschwangau / Alpseestraße.

This castle is the highlight for my entire escapade as this is without a doubt a beauty to behold. The scenic view of alps while I was in the train will leave your mouth open! It’s breathtaking!

Instead of going on a solo tour, I booked a package for €34 in Sandman’s Tour.  Our guide was India, and she tells as the heartbreaking story of the castle’s owner – King Ludwig II. If you can, walk until you reach the bridge, so you can have a better view of this lovely castle.

To go back to hostel

Take Westfriendhof U1 towards Mangfallplatz 5 mins, 3 stops, and get off at Maillingerstrase, wakl for 9 mins 750m

 

Munich to Prague

Transportation: Bus via ExpressBus

Hours:

Cost: € 30

When: October 26

8:00 Munich – 13:15 Prague         direct (05:15h)
