Walking Around the Incredibly Colorful Buildings of Tirana

Travel Tips
Walking Around the Incredibly Colorful Buildings of Tirana

All of us has seen colorful buildings, but none can compare to the ones in Tirana. No two buildings have the same design and color. Most of the designs are geometrical, but each and every one is painted with a vibrant mix of colors that’ll leave you looking around for more. As you walk along the city, one of the best routes to take is alongside the river Lana. It’s easier to find the buildings in this route though they’re quite scattered all around the city. Believe it or not, it wasn’t all this colorful and fun to look at. A few years back it was quite a grim and sad city. But all of that thankfully changed when they elected Edi Rama as mayor. Being an artist himself, he took on the challenge to make Tirana a little bit better and a lot more pleasing to the eyes. At first he just went with his own sketches, but after some time he decided to hire a number of foreign artists. Not only that, but he invited local children and students to participate in the beautification of Tirana. Through the years, some colors have begun to fade away but a […]

4 Days, 3 Nights Rome, Italy DIY Itinerary

The easiest way to get around Rome is by walking. Everything is worth seeing, each tourist location is within reach. Just beware of pickpockets especially in the metro and bus. Avoid bus 64 as much as possible. If you are planning to visit Colloseum, beware of those men dress in Gladiator. They will say picture taking is free, but after taking picture, they will ask for 10 Euro! Here is the itinerary I prepared for my visit. However, I failed to follow it, because when I get there, I just keep on walking. It’s fun to walk because there so many people walking by. Trevi fountain is under construction but it’s still worth visiting. Italian men are charming indeed 🙂 Accommodation: Walter Rooms Guest House Via Carlo Alberto 24, Central Station, 00185 Rome, Italy   How to get to guest house from the Airport                 Take FM1 Link, get off at Ostiense Station (LINE B), take metro toward Termini, and transfer to LINE A, get off at Vitorio. Or. Take Fm1 towards Termini, take bus 105 towards Stazio Grotte Celoni, 2 stops, get off at Piazza Vittorio Emmanuelle, or take Metro A and get off at Vitorio €8 Between 08:00 […]
