Enjoy Yourself With These UK Activities

Destinations/Europe
Enjoy Yourself With These UK Activities

As a travel destination, the UK is probably best recognised for its amazing selection of scenery and visual attractions. There are beautiful stretches of nature, ruins of medieval castles, and ancient wonders like Stonehenge and Hadrian’s Wall to take in. And the sightseeing is even better in some of the cities. In London particularly there’s an absolutely endless array of landmark buildings and monuments to see.
In short, you could spend a dozen separate vacations just seeing the UK. But this wonderful country isn’t all about sights! It’s also a great place to visit for recreation—a perfect hub for adventurers, sports enthusiasts, lovers of culture and history, and just about everyone else. So if you’d like to approach UK travel from a recreational standpoint, consider adding some of these activities to the itinerary in addition to sightseeing.

Hike Tryfan in Snowdonia

There are a lot of tremendous hiking and climbing opportunities throughout the UK, and this outline has some of the best ones. Really it’s a toss-up between these options, but for the true adventurer Tryfan Mountain in Wales is one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences. From the ground, this peak looks rocky and forbidding, and there is a bit of “scrambling” required as you near the top. But it’s not considered to be a dangerous climb. From the top you can enjoy breathtaking views of the gorgeous Snowdonia National Park, as well as get your adrenaline pumping by hiking the famous gap between the Adam and Eve rocks at the peak.

Play Handball Among the Best in Denmark

Travel Tips
Play Handball Among the Best in Denmark

First off, what is handball anyway? By the sound if the name, it surely do must involve a ball, right? It’s a big thing in Europe, as for outside countries, not so. Handball is kind of basketball meets soccer. Much like basketball, the goal is to get a ball, roughly the size of a soccer ball, to the goal of the opposite team; the ball is dribbled and passed around too. And as for its soccer element, the goal looks much like the one you can see in soccer. But the ball is thrown from above towards the net, not from below. Handball isn’t really the national sport, but by the way things look anyone can make that mistake. Much like basketball for Americans, handball is played by everyone in Denmark; children, students, parent, etc. You can virtually find handball clubs almost anywhere in Denmark and expect each and every one to be visited regularly by beginners and professionals. There’s even an academy dedicated to the sport called Handball Academy. They specialize in strict and effective training to help players test and greatly improve their talent. With their career planning, guidance and individual coaching anyone is sure to achieve their […]

Have Fun at Moscow’s Fun and Wild Nightlife

We all know that New York is the city that never sleeps, but what we didn’t know is that Moscow doesn’t get that much shut-eye either. At night, she comes alive with all the different bars and pubs that people can hang out in. Whether you just want to have a peaceful drink, dance till can’t anymore or make a memory that will forever be between you and Moscow, you can find it here. First we have Propaganda, one of the longest-lived disco spots in Moscow. The liveliest day is during Thursday when they hold the main event. Propaganda is open daily and dedicated their days to hip-hop, jazz, techno and other various kind of dance music. In the morning it’s just a restaurant with great food, the fun starts at night. Of course some people will want to experience the craziest of nights, and why not? But fair warning, you should be backed up by a small fortune, because anything that’s good has a price tag on it. Nightflight is a premier joint where guys go to blow-up their cash trying to impress the long-legged beauties dancing here and there. Piramida has the same process though they have an […]

Head Towards Turaida Castle

Destinations/Travel Tips
Head Towards Turaida Castle

Out of all the medieval castles present in Latvia, nothing can be as stunning as the Turaida Castle.  Surrounded by trees and foliage, this red castle pops out of the scenery making it the center of attention and undoubtedly the star of each and every photograph. There was a time when only a few buildings and some parts of the tower were left, but the people took it upon themselves to restore and conserve the tower to its rightful appearance. It’s composed of many towers, but the main one is called Bergfried or The Great Round Tower. Long ago it served as an observation tower, but now through renovation for the visitors’ convenience, those who climb will be able to take in the beauty that surrounds the castle. Another exhibit is the prison of the castle, in it the visitors will be able to see the handcuffs and prison equipment through the bar of the door. The Guard of the Castle exhibit takes place on the first floor where it’s suitable for living. Dummies inside will give you a graphic view of how things went in the life a guard long ago; sharpening equipment and throwing dice. Also inside is […]

Become Witness to Croatia’s Stunning National Parks

Destinations/Europe
Become Witness to Croatia’s Stunning National Parks

Croatia has eight stunning national parks, each having their own distinct features that people flock to witness and experience. The names are Plivice, Krka, Mljet, Risnjak, Paklenica, Sjeverni Velebit, Kornati and Brijuni National Park. Each have their own fees and admission prices, though quite reasonable. Costs less if you visit during spring or autumn, summer holds the highest price. Plitvice is the most visited, with 16 small and large lakes all having the distinct blue and green color. This is the perfect place for sightseers, photographers and hikers. Yes, it contains numerous waterfalls and lakes, but people aren’t allowed to swim because the water is clean and drinkable. Krka on the other hand is like a smaller version of Plitvice, but more developed and people can actually swim in it. Mljet is not as crowded as the other parks so can really relax here, but it doesn’t mean that its beauty cannot match the others. It’s a truly magnificent sight all on its own, there’s a lake in the middle of an island and even a castle on the side. Risnjak might be the least visited of the national parks, but that doesn’t mean that you should steer clear. Teeming […]
