5 Popular Dishes In Thai Cuisine That Everyone Should Try

Humans are creatures of habit. Once we find things we like, it is very hard to attract our attention to something new. This is especially true about the foods we eat. Because humans are very visual beings, just the mere appearance of a dish may turn them off, especially if it is a foreign cuisine they do not have any experience with. It’s been said that variety is the spice of life and we think people should apply that to their choices in food as well. It’s no fun eating the same thing over and over, no matter how good it is. Expand your horizons and try something new – like Thai cuisine. We’re going to tell you about five of the most popular dishes in Thai cuisine that everyone should try – at least once. Tom Yam Goong Tom yam goong is one of those dishes you can smell before you ever see or taste it – and that’s a good thing! Where to Dine in Phuket

Where to Dine in Phuket

Phuket has become such an indelible part of tourism in Southeast Asia, let alone Thailand, that not even a tsunami can stop it. Yes, the primetime holiday spot was hit hard by the infamous Indian Ocean megathrust earthquake of 2004 but, happily and despite the odds, has made a swift recovery. This is not a purely anecdotal bit of speculation either. The numbers tell the story – and they are truly impressive. To wit, for the past five years roughly 3.5 million visitors, on average, have come to Phuket. That makes Thailand’s largest island a top 30 global holiday destination. Public relations, obviously, are not Phuket’s main concern. Luxury hotels in Phuket also compare favourably with some of the best in the region, from Langkawi to Bali, Palawan to Pattaya. Decent accommodation then, is not a problem. And, clearly, neither is the climate, so long as it veers tropical and not tropical monsoon. How about where to score a choice stretch of beach? Please. Easy peasy in Phuket. No, the one dominant question that plagues many Phuket-trippers is, simply, this: Where to find a good, authentic meal? Well look no further. This handy list underscores some of the gems of […]

Must Try Egyptian Desserts For Travellers

Before our trip to Egypt, I was only looking forward to two things- first, to see the Great Pyramids of Giza since it is arguably the most staple destination of Egypt and second, I was really looking forward to experience the street scene of Cairo by going on a street food trip. Although a lot of travel advisors say that it’s not very safe to eat just anywhere in Egypt, I was still however confident to go on a food trip just because I got a first-aid medicine at hand just in case my stomach goes bad. I know Egypt is a historic and exotic place and I expect the same with their food; that’s why I was very excited to get the opportunity to finally travel there and see the ancient sites firsthand and not just see it in some postcard or in a children’s encyclopedia. Sure enough, when we got to Cairo, the first thing we went to see are the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx in Giza, situated just a few kilometers away from the City […]
