4 Cities with the Best Dinosaur Museums for Kids

Children seem to have an unhealthy fascination with giant lizards that could eat them. Luckily for all the parents out there, Jurassic Park was never made into a reality. However, many of today’s dinosaur museums cater specifically to children, offering up workshops, tours, and fun activities to teach them more about the former rulers of the Earth. Here’s a list of the top four dinosaur museums in the United States for you to plan a (safe) prehistoric adventure with your budding paleontologists. The Field Museum – Chicago, Illinois First up on our list is the famous Field Museum of Chicago, home to Sue, the world’s largest and most complete Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton in the world. This girl is a must see for all reptile enthusiasts as she’s 42 feet long and around 67 million years old. The museum holds a host of other dinosaurs and exhibits, and even offers up overnight sleepovers where children and their families can sleep among Sue and all of her dinosaur friends. Tickets are $18 for adults and $13 for children. The Wyoming Dinosaur Center – Thermopolis, Wyoming Home to a beautiful museum with 20 full-sized dinosaur skeletons on display, the real appeal of this […]

UK Camping for the Tour de France: An Interactive Guide

UK Camping for the Tour de France: An Interactive Guide

The 101st Tour de France, set to take place from Saturday July 5th to Sunday July 27th this year, will see the cyclists explore previously unknown pastures in the form of the UK’s Yorkshire Dales. Kicking off in Leeds, the UK leg of the tour will pass through Harrogate, York, Sheffield, Cambridge and Essex before finishing in London. Whilst it may not serve the typically sunny, blue skies of Spain, nor offer the dainty culinary delicacies of France, Yorkshire has a few tricks up its own sleeve ready to wow the thousands of travellers who will be pilgrimaging northwards to watch the cyclists vie for that prestigious yellow jersey. Boasting ‘100 days of Art and Culture’, this year’s York Festival will coincide with the tour to show visitors exactly what the UK’s biggest county has to offer. Artists have been busy burrowing tracks into the hillsides between Blubberhouse and Holmfirth for their “Fields of Vision” exhibition, amid the enormous aerial landscape pictures set to woo spectators from the sky. For those who have been dragged to the tour by their lapels and are seeking alternative entertainment in place of cycle-spotting, there are theatre productions, music concerts and exhibitions aplenty taking place across the county. […]

Since you will only be taking your backpack, it is important that you travel light and only take the most necessary things. Here is a short guide on what to bring when going backpacking Europe. Choose only the basic clothes and look for ones that can double. Take into consideration the normal temperature of the areas you plan to visit during the time of your trip. If it will cover multiple seasons, an additional layer for cooler months will be required. Take two pairs of pants. Choose one that has plenty of pockets as they will come in handy for storing things on the road. Likewise, look for pants that can zip off into shorts as this can greatly reduce the weight of your pack. Pack two or three t-shirts as well as long sleeve shirts or sweatshirts. You need not be concerned with not taking enough shirts as you will be buying more on your trip. You may also want to take a branded t-shirt and exchange them with other backpackers. Pack 3 […]
