It is known that America’s favorite pastime is the sport of baseball. From Babe Ruth to Jackie Robinson to Barry Bonds, baseball has grown and evolved to support the American culture. If there is one constant in Major League Baseball, it would have to be the iconic Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. Opening its gates in 1912, Fenway is the oldest standing ballpark within Major League Baseball and is home to the 2013 World Series Champions: The Boston Red Sox. When visiting Boston, you have the opportunity to take a walking tour of Fenway and go back through over 100 years of baseball history. Excluding Wrigley Field (which opened in 1914), there is only one other ballpark that has been running for over 50 years; that of course is Dodger Stadium, which opened its doors in 1962. Taking a tour of Fenway Park is most likely to be the most interesting part of your trip to Boston. With its reasonable prices (no ticket is more $16), the one-hour tour will take you all around the ballpark with more stories than you can imagine. A highlight of the tour would have to be going up to the press box; it provides […]

What I am about to tell you, which you won’t understand until you see it, is that LA is HUGE. The map makes it looks so compacted and easy to travel around…but it really isn’t, trust me. My name is Hannah, and I’m the resident travel expert at Official-Esta.com. In this travel feature, I’m going to be explore how you get on, and off the tourist trail in Los Angeles, so that you can really maximise your trip. Let’s get started. Plan to stay in LA for a while if you’re going to visit. There is so much to do, you won’t pack it in to one visit though, so be warned, you may have to book another trip as soon as you get home. Obviously you have to go and see the walk of fame! Like my opening warning, it’s bigger than you expect, stretching for 2 or 3 blocks. While on the subject of film and TV, if you have a car then you need to make your way into the hills for the tourist shot in front of the Hollywood sign, it isn’t very well signposted (ironically) so you may want to ask the hotel desk to […]
The First Capital of the United States: Old City, Philadelphia
Destinations/North AmericaThere is more to Philadelphia than just cheesesteaks and soft pretzels. It is America’s first capital and the birthplace of American freedom. Although sometimes hidden in the shadows of New York and Washington D.C., Philadelphia is one of the greatest cities in the United States and should never be overlooked. Filled with art, culture, and history, the City of Brotherly Love is broken down into several different neighborhoods. One of the most vibrant parts of the city would have to be Old City. It houses the historical monuments and buildings, including: Independence Hall, Christ Church, and the Liberty Bell. All of these are free to the public, and shed light on over 200 years of American history. Old City is found between Center City and Penn’s Landing. The area is easily accessible by using the Market Street Subway Line, or it is a nice ten-block walk from City Hall. After standing in the same room where the Declaration of Independence was signed and walking the pews of the same church America’s Founding Fathers attended, you will probably be hungry and in need for a meal. If this is the case and you are interested in some true local flavor, then […]
Niagara Falls is the joining tourist destination on the international border of Canada and the United States. There are a total of three waterfalls, which make up the entire gathering. Those three include: Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. On either side there is so much to do and see, making the falls a wonderful travel destination for any traveller. There is always talk about which side of the falls is better: the U.S. side or the Canadian side. While it is difficult to decide until you visit, here is a break down for both sides of the amazing Niagara Falls. United States: Some people will point out that they do not like seeing all the background buildings on the Canada side, as it takes away from the natural beauty of the falls; others will also note that there is not as good of an overall view of all the falls on the American side. However, there are a lot of activities and tours on the U.S. side that you can be a part of. There is the ‘Cave of the Winds,’ which really submerges you in to the falls. Once taking a quick elevator ride to the […]

America’s Small Towns: Visiting Historic Doylestown, Pennsylvania
Destinations/North AmericaWhen traveling, one can sometimes overlook or genuinely miss out on the small towns of the world. Many will gravitate towards the major, well-known cities, but we cannot forget the other culturally rich towns across the globe. In the suburban outskirts of Philadelphia, there is the small town of Doylestown, Pennsylvania. It is easy to get to, as it is the last stop from Center City on the Lansdale/Doylestown Regional Rail Line. Taking the train provides for reliable and convenient transportation and allows for the perfect escape from the bustling city; it even gives you some time to simply relax and watch the scenery fly by your window. Doylestown is a place that is filled with music, art, and great coffee. It is the hometown of several artists, writers, musicians, and several other public figures. The most notable would be James A. Michener (writer), Henry Chapman Mercer (architect), Pearl S. Buck (noble prize winning author), and Pink (pop-star). When in Doylestown, be sure to make an appearance at the James A. Michener Art Museum or the Mercer Museum, an exhibit on early American artifacts. These are two of the most visited places in Doylestown, filling your day trip with plenty […]
America’s summers are made up of BBQ’s, fireworks, apple pies, and music festivals. While the most recognized festivals include Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, you just might find yourself pleasantly surprised by the smaller and younger festivals found across the country. Not only are they usually cheaper, but also they add a more local flavor to the atmosphere while staging a credible weekend lineup. Out on the banks of the Ohio River in Cincinnati, Ohio, stands Sawyer Point and Yeatman’s Cove. It is here that the Bunbury Music Festival takes place in mid-July and always puts up a great showing. It not only has had great music every year, but also the riverbank setting provides for a great way to explore the Cincinnati area; there is a great view of Newport, Kentucky as you relax on the cement, amphitheater-like stairs, which lead down to the river. The Bunbury Music Festival has only been around for two years, but do not let that fool you. Even in its first year, Bunbury was able to have performers like: Death Cab For Cutie, City and Colour, Neon Trees, and Weezer. For its second festival in 2013, the lineup became even better; with headliners like FUN., […]
