Australia
A Vacation Down Under – Ten Locations You Shouldn’t Miss

Australia is truly one of the natural wonders of the world in itself. So, you can always count on a vacation to Australia to be a rich and fulfilling experience. Scientists believe that Australia had severed from the rest of the land mass during the formative phases of the planet and life evolved there isolated to the rest of the world. If you don’t believe that, then the best way to see that is visiting this continent country. If you are planning to spend your next leisure trip down under, then there are some destinations that you simply cannot afford to miss when you land there. 1. Sydney There is no better urban destination in Australia than Sydney. Attractions such as the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbor Bridge and Sydney Tower need no introduction, particularly popularized after the 2000 Summer Olympics. There are several other attractions such as Darling Harbor Marine Aquarium, Hunter Valley Wineries and Jenolan Caves are important as well. A cruise by the harbor could really make for a memorable evening with your significant other. 2. Uluru Considered one of the natural wonders of the world, witnessing this iconic monolith is a one in a lifetime experience. […]

Planning a Realistic Trip to Antarctica

Antartica
Planning a Realistic Trip to Antarctica

There are few experiences in a person’s travel life which can be more unique and magical than witnessing the majesty of Antarctica. Antarctica has the reputation of being the coldest and even the driest continent on the planet, making it the most hostile place for human life at least. Several people are irrecoverably injured and killed every year to just to see this desolate land mass. But if you can’t resist the thought of seeing the penguins swim there for yourself and live what it is like to be in Antarctica, then this should be your line of action. You need a starting point to embark on your polar adventure and it largely depends on what part of Antarctica you would like to explore. You could make a start from Sydney, Hobart and Melbourne in Australia and Bluff in New Zealand in the eastern hemisphere and Cape Town in South Africa, Punta Arenas or Santiago in Chile and Ushuaia in Argentina in the western hemisphere. Choose Your Mode of Transport Probably the most comfortable way to reach Antarctica is through a cruise ship and there is no surprise that it is the most commonly chosen one. You can find a […]

A Trip to Dubai – The Land of Deserts

A Trip to Dubai – The Land of Deserts

Like most people, I have a bucket list of all the places I would like to visit in my lifetime but the problem is most of the entries in that list stays in the bucket. Last year I ticked off one location from that list – Dubai, commonly known as the shopper’s paradise. I’m not much of a package person so I had packed light for the trip which I found to be very useful because on my way back I had a significant amount of luggage to carry. When I landed in Dubai what I saw around me was very different from what I had in mind. Every road divider in the city had more flowers and plants than I had seen back in India and this were surprising because I had imagined Dubai to be a desert with very little vegetation. Now being a non vegetarian I fell in love with the food there and you can get pretty much any variety of meat here. But for a city with a majority of non vegetarians, I was surprised when I discovered that it is an offense to harm camels in any part of the country. One of the […]

Are Vacation Rentals Really Worth the Trouble?

Vacation Rentals
Are Vacation Rentals Really Worth the Trouble?

If you are the type of tourist who loves to stay at hotels instead of renting out space in which you are on your own, then there are a few factors you need to consider. You would have often heard the fuss about vacation rentals on travel websites, but why do people actually think that it is a good idea to leave the comforts of a hotel to go and rent a place. Here are a few reasons why some people are inclined to do that. Budget A hotel may be very convenient and luxurious, but all that pampering comes for a lot of cost. Some hotels can charge more per day than it would cost for a week with a vacation rental. When you are traveling on a budget, a vacation rental becomes an obvious choice, unless you hate cooking meals and doing your own laundry. Larger Space Vacation rentals possibly offer a much larger space and freedom of movement as compared to a hotel suite. If you are hiring a condo or a full villa, then that would offer a complete living space at your disposal. Variety of Options Vacation rentals offer a lot of variety in terms […]

Places to Visit in Taj Mahal, India

Places to Visit in Taj Mahal, India

This travel experience is shared by Jessica from India. The pleasure and experiences that I derived during my last visit to the erstwhile capital of the Mughal Empire was awesome. Wondering which city I am referring to? If you have guessed Agra in India then you are absolutely right. My desire to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World and an epitome of true love came true last year when I travelled to Agra. Located in the northern states of Uttar Pradesh, Agra was one of the most powerful cities with mythological significance during the Mughal rule. Referred to as Akbarabad, during the Mughal emperor’s rule, this city has turned out to be one of the most popular and favourite tourist destination spots. Located by the side of holy river Yamuna, the monument is worth seeing after dawn especially on a full moon day. With the beauty of this white monument being reflected in the water along with the blooming full moon, this site is undoubtedly a feast to the eyes. Besides being a monument with historical significance, Taj Mahal is a true example of the craftsmanship of Indian artisans. Taj Mahal includes a beautiful mosque, guest house […]

Singapore – The Ultimate Asian City Break

Singapore
Singapore – The Ultimate Asian City Break

Singapore is certainly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Singapore is a city-state and it is probably by necessity that this city has to offer almost as much as an entire country could. There are quite a few attractions to find in Singapore that would urge you to make a trip to this wonderful city at least once. History Singapore was established as a colonial trading post by the British in 1813, giving it a rich history. Though you cannot go back in time, but the history of the city is well preserved in its colonial buildings and historical museums. Culture The prime culture attraction in Singapore is the Esplanada Theaters in the Marina Bay area. Apart from the motion pictures, it is also the home venue of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. The Bras Bsah and the Riverside areas are the colonial heart of the city and feature a number of museums. Chinatown is another popular destination, while you cannot afford to miss the Burmese Buddhist Temple in Balestier as well. Festivals Singapore is a city of many cultures and religions, which is why almost all well-recognized festivals from around the world are celebrated here. If you […]
