Being one of the most famous tourist destination in Iceland, it can be really crowded at times especially during the summer. You can go during the winter, or in the afternoons and evenings of the summer when it’s a little less crowded. This geothermal spa is frequented by people who want to relax, the cooling waters help some skin illness. Rich minerals like silica and sulfur are abundant in the water making it good for the skin, while the average temperature is 37-39 °C. Silicate is the main cause of the water’s symbolic milky blue color. This lagoon is actually man-made, waters come from the geothermal power plant which is renewed every other day. The Hill of Crosses in Lithuania basically looks like what it was named, a hill filled with variations of crosses.
