Quick and Easy Guide To Budget Friendly Breaks

Saving and budgeting the money for a travel adventure is one of the most difficult things to do. Travel isn’t an essential thing that we can always feel justified to spend money on, but it is a rewarding an important part of living. Family life can be greatly enriched by taking a trip to somewhere new and exciting. Solo travellers can even meet new people and make friends.

When you have managed to save some money, you want to ensure that you are getting the best deal possible. It is important to do your research so that you don’t waste money on unnecessary extras. Your leftover spending budget will thank you!

Step one – do your research

An important starting point for any budget friendly break is to do your initial research well. You need to ensure that your budget will stretch to your planned destination and that you can afford to do the things you’ve planned. You should be thinking about checking as many different vacation specialists as possible and asking them what their current deals are. If you wait until the last minute, you can often get a rock bottom price on your trip.

Consider sources such as the chaingang.co.uk for budget activity based holiday’s where you won’t need to spend quite as much throughout the day. If you are looking for a beachside setting or a seaside location, then you should factor in the costs of eating out and local shopping. This will all add up and can eat into your budget in no time.

Step two – double check before booking

You should always double check what documents you will need before visiting a new country. Getting the correct Visa can be a timely and expensive option depending on your requirements so factor this in.

Double check that you have paid the correct baggage costs and that you’ve paid for any additional extras you’ll require when booking. Hidden costs are common, so do ensure that you read all the legal documentation you are given. This will save you lots of hassle in the long run.

Step three – be aware of your budget

Make sure that you have a set budget for each day that you plan to stay for. Sticking to a set budget doesn’t have to be boring.  Make it a challenge for the kids to find exciting souvenirs for cheap prices. If you are travelling solo or as a couple, find some budget friendly restaurants or local cafe’s to eat at, rather than paying over the odds for fancy food.

Step four – Do something different

If you step outside of your comfort zone, you might be pleasantly surprised. It is possible to do something different from the norm and still enjoy your break. Just because something is cheaper than you are used to, doesn’t make it bad quality.

Try staying at a cheaper hotel, or find a hostel if you are travelling alone. Cheap little bed and breakfast places can also be lifesavers to those looking to save money.
