Visiting Africa can bring great joy to many people. However, you need to be prepared for anything when you visit the continent. This is the reason why you should plan the tour in advance, especially if you have never been to the continent or country before. Some of the most visited countries in Africa include South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Egypt, Morocco, Zambia and Botswana. Although Botswana is a country in the heart of the Namib Desert, the existence of a small paradise with the marula fruit, which is the special delicacy for amarula the drink as made it a major tourist destination. Understand what the national language is
Most countries in Africa are still developing, and language is a major barrier in tourism. This means you need to prepare yourself to embrace this, but at least understand what language that country uses as the national language. The national language depends with the colonial government that colonized that country. If you are visiting Kenya for example, English is widely used and understood within cities and towns. This does not however mean that everyone understands the language. A country like Tanzania has Kiswahili as the national language. Although English is understood, people rarely use it. The other most commonly used language in Africa is French and Amharic.

Use a travel and tours company if visiting for the first time
If you are visiting Africa for the first time, and do not want to have a hard time with communication, you can then use a travel and tour agent to guide you along. Most of the tour agents understand many foreign languages and you will have an easy time with them. If you are an outgoing person and love to relate with other people, you will be warmly welcomed in Africa. In this way, it will be easier for you to understand simple phrases like thank you and even say hi.

Countercheck your travel documents and make copies of them
Most nations in Africa are still developing, and technology is yet to fully establish. Your passports and other travel documents need to be clean and easily verifiable in airports and other government restricted areas. To avoid confusion or deportation, you need to verify them first. Losing a package or even the identification documents is easy in a foreign country. For your own security, make copies of the identification documents and keep them in separate bags. This will help identify yourself faster if you lose the original documents.
