First off, what is handball anyway? By the sound if the name, it surely do must involve a ball, right? It’s a big thing in Europe, as for outside countries, not so. Handball is kind of basketball meets soccer. Much like basketball, the goal is to get a ball, roughly the size of a soccer ball, to the goal of the opposite team; the ball is dribbled and passed around too. And as for its soccer element, the goal looks much like the one you can see in soccer. But the ball is thrown from above towards the net, not from below. Handball isn’t really the national sport, but by the way things look anyone can make that mistake. Much like basketball for Americans, handball is played by everyone in Denmark; children, students, parent, etc. You can virtually find handball clubs almost anywhere in Denmark and expect each and every one to be visited regularly by beginners and professionals.
