A Short Stay at Kings Cross London

Accomodations/Destinations/Europe
A Short Stay at Kings Cross London

On my last business trip to London I was required to travel a lot, both within and outside London. So I decided to stay close to King’s Cross station. I started to look online for a comfortable yet reasonably priced hotel in the area, and the more I researched the more positive reviews I found of The Jesmond Dene, a Kings Cross Hotel in London. Every review I read raved about the place and its services, so I decided to check it out for myself this time. The Jesmond Dene hotel– Firstly the location, it is absolutely the best I could have asked for. Only a short walk away (just a couple of minutes) are not only the three major rail terminals, namely the King’s Cross, St. Pancras and Euston, but the area is also connected by a vast network or bus routes and tube lines, which connect it to some of the major airports. As I was supposed to travel extensively, this was the best option for me. But proximity to transport route is not all that this hotel had to offer. This Victorian guest house is a bed and breakfast hotel with the friendliest staff. Not only will […]

Britain on a Budget for Overseas Travelers

Budget Travel/Europe
Britain on a Budget for Overseas Travelers

From my childhood, Britain had always seemed to cross my path in one way or another. Be it the stories recounted by my relatives who had been there or the regular canning I received from a British nun at my convent. Thus, my fascination with Britain began long ago, and it only got compounded by the numerous story books, TV shows and films I have come across ever since. So about a year back I decided to visit the place physically for once and not just through other’s eyes and/or minds. But as we all know, an overseas vacation is rarely cheap, especially if you are a student. So after doing a year’s worth of odd jobs and breaking out my savings I saved up a decent amount. Even a few friends decided to tag along, as it is always cheaper to travel in groups. But just to be on the safer side I checked online to see if there were any deals or discounts for overseas travelers like us, and what I found was the Golden ticket to Britain on a Budget. This was the ‘English Heritage Overseas Visitor Pass’ which is a Sightseeing discount pass for overseas travelers […]

Top 5 Travel Destinations in The Philippines

I have been to several parts of the Philippines, and I’ve seen its wonders. Among all the places I visited, below are the top 5 that leaves a good impression to me. 1. El Nido, Palawan Consists of several breath-taking islands, el nido is truly a paradise. I love the blue sea and the greenest mountains. People in this place are all nice and very accommodating. 2. Puerto Princesa, Palawan – Not much to see, but I enjoy the city tour, firefly watching, crodile farm, as well visiting historical places. This is also where the famous Underground River is located. People are very friendly. 3. Sagada, Mountain Province – If you’re a person looking for an adventure, I would highly suggest this place. You will do trekking, spelunking, hiking, and more! Looking for Partner to Volunteer Abroad

Looking for Partner to Volunteer Abroad

Anyone interested to volunteer abroad? I wanted to travel across Asia and also do some volunteering works while embracing their culture. But I don’t have anyone to go with me. It’s going to be backpacking. So if you are an adventure seeker, I would be very happy to go with you. This will be my plan. We can volunteer in Chiang Tai Thailand and Kanchaburi Thai(159USD, accommodation and lunch), as well Honoi, Vietnam for 2 weeks each at least. Since Chiang Rai is close to Burma/Myammar, we can cross the border thru Tuktuk to Burma and Laos, we can do sightseeing after our volunteering hours (can be weekend). From Chiang Rai, we can go to Kanchaburi Thailand(Shooting Location for the movie First Little Thing Called Love of Mario Maurer :D) for another 2 weeks. From here, we will proceed to Bangkok, since this is where the airport is located. Then, we proceed to Cambodia for short sightseeing and then fly to Vietnam perhaps take a train or bus. We can do 1-2 weeks volunteering in Vietnam. From Vietnam, we can do short sightseeing to Bali Indonesia, and then to Malaysia (last stop) – then go back to Philippines. This adventure […]

Places to visit when Travelling to Australia

Australia
Places to visit when Travelling to Australia

With over 35 thousand kilometers of coastline, but also coastal and inland rivers in every territory and state, Australia is certainly a fishing wonderland that offers its inhabitants some of the best locations for practicing their fishing skills. However, there are many other fishing experiences on offer in this amazing country, including estuary, rock, bay and surf fishing along the coast and many more. Fishing has actually increased in the last few years in Australia and it has become a regulated sport, meaning that people need to have permits in order to fish. The good news is that people won’t only have fun fishin here, but they can also take their kayak for a ride at any time of day. Exmouth Stepping off the shore near Exmouth, people will find themselves in the middle of the largest fringing reef in the world, the Ningaloo Reef. It’s basically one of the most popular spots for different kinds of visitors, like humpback whales, turtles, manta rays, dolphins and even whale sharks. Getting to this paradise from Perth can either be done by car, case in which people have to drive for 2 days or consider a 2 hours flight. Considering guided glass-bottom […]

Top Most Peculiar Hotels Around The World

Every architect has had a crazy building plan at least once in their life. Many did not push through with their ideas since they are crazy enough that they’re not worth executing. However, for some architects, they have witnessed the realization of their wildest planning and designing ideas. Throughout the course of history, there were many notable buildings and structures mankind has built, from The Roman Coliseum, the Pyramids of Giza, the Parthenon, to Empire State Building, Eiffel Tower, the Bird’s Nest, and many more. These great structures epitomize the great minds of architects. If there are great historical and contemporary buildings and structures, there are odd and awkward-looking buildings as well – hotels in particular. Peculiar hotels across the globe are not your typical five-star hotels as they offer a different taste in concept, design, and feel. If you are the type of person who is inclined to experiencing an exceptional hotel experience, or if you are the type of architect who is looking for crazy ideas, the list provided below is worth the reading. 1. The Giraffe Manor (Nairobi, Kenya) – This hotel patterned after a Scottish hunting lodge was designed by Sir David Duncan. At first look, […]
