Discovering the Island of Batanes, Philippines ~ My Sanctuary

Asia/Budget Travel/Last Minute Travel/Philippines/Travel Stories
Discovering the Island of Batanes, Philippines ~ My Sanctuary

I’ve been anticipating my plan to go to Batanes last December 2013, but my flights have been canceled twice, so I have to go for another airlines which is Philippine Airlines. Travelling to Batanes has been tagged as really expensive, well that’s partly true. To tour Batanes the cheapest way, you have to wait for Airline Seatsale! Since I cannot wait anymore, I booked my flight despite its high price. I intend to unwind in Batanes, so this time, I availed of Full Board Package at Batanes Seaside Lodge instead of doing in on my own. My package details can be found here. Since I am travelling solo, I pay P16,000. I also made a request to take a motorbike instead of Van. Even if you do it on your own, it will still cost you much. You would need to hire a tourguide, or a car, since there isn’t always PUV passing by. I think you have to hire a tricycle or rent a bike. I arrived in Batanes 8am via PAL Express. FREEZING COLD! A guy from Batanes Seaside lodge fetched me ( I forgot his name!) I love my room! It’s facing the beach, and there’s also […]

One Day Tour to Corregidor Philippines via Sun Cruises

Philippines/Tour Package/Travel Stories
One Day Tour to Corregidor Philippines via Sun Cruises

I availed 3 tickets for a One Day Tour in Corregidor last year during the Travel Mart Expo in Moa for only P1600 each. That includes the RT Ferry, Tour Bus and Buffet Lunch. In case you missed it, you can check Sun Cruises homepage for the prices. There are also several activities you might want to try, camping is also possible. Corregidor is known for its historical value. It’s a good place to go back to the times when Japanese invaded PH in 1941. It is a small island in Cavite, and approximately 48km away from Manila Bay. I called Sun Cruises for advance reservation on January 16, 2014. How to get to Sun Cruises? VIA EDSA Take MRT going to Taft Ave MRT From Taft MRT transfer to LRT 1 Edsa and go to LRT Vito Cruz (P12) From Vito Cruise, walk to Rizal Stadium and take the orange jeep going to CCP Drop off to Sun Cruises Go to Reservation Boot and get your Boarding Sticker. Your Group Name, Seat # and Bus # is indicated in this sticker. Pay P100 per person for fuel surcharge. — Start — 7 AM – 8:00 AM – Checking Time […]

We all love to have fun and enjoy life to the fullest. We sometimes plan a tour across the world to have fun, as well as have a change of scene. If you are planning an outing with your family, friends of even a honeymoon, visiting the Philippines could be a wise choice. The reason why Philippines is the ultimate destination is because for one, it is farther off, and with many beaches full of life all year round. Here are some tips to help you consider the Philippines. 1. Delicious local foods One thing you have to understand about the Philippines is that, it is part of the Asian community. This means that the foods served here are Asian made thus meaning they have been prepared specially by originals. There is nothing as good as having a mouthwatering aromatic food in the full glare of white sandy beaches. It also goes beyond explanations that, a full stomach gives way for more fun. You can have the food as you swim, dive or even dining with your loved one. If you love traditionally made alcohol or beer during your vacation here, the good news then is that, alcohol in Philippines […]

Reasons Why You Should Visit The Philippines

The Philippines is a major tourist destination, as many people love heading here for vacations, honeymoons and for business too. Although there are many reasons why the Philippines is strategically located at the farthest end of the continent, and has numerous islands that make up the country. This country is blessed with many other natural features that do attract many people from the globe, the same as within. Here are a few reasons why this is the ultimate tourist destination. 1. White sandy beaches Philippines is blessed with sandy beaches from all angles. Made up of more than 7000 islands, you have a wider variety of beaches to choose from. The beaches are widespread and big enough to accommodate many people, thus overcrowding is rarely experienced unless there is a major event on one beach. The good thing about these sandy beaches in Philippines is that, you get to sun bathe all year round. Although many countries experience for weather seasons, the Philippines weather is warm almost all year round, meaning you can choose to head here any time of the year. Do It Yourself Sagada Adventure during Holyweek

Philippines/Travel Stories
Do It Yourself Sagada Adventure during Holyweek

My friend and I decided to take a vacation in Sagada during Holyweek! Since its peak season, mostly buses are already fully booked. Luckily, we were able to saved 2 seats in Baliwag Terminal going to Solano cost us around 400. Since we are not familiar with the place, we just asked the conductor to drop us in Bagabag. We left Cubao around 10pm and arrived in Bagabag 5:30am with 3 stops over. We took the bus going to Banaue, which lasted for an hour. When we arrived in Banaue, we took another jeep going to Bontoc, the jeep will not leave until it’s full. From bontoc, we took another jeep going to Sagada. Though this is a long ride, you will surely enjoy it. The sceneries are really fascinating! Too many rice terraces! Finally, we reached Sagada around 1:30 in the afternoon. We registered at the tourism office for 50pesos. My friend created our itinerary, and since its peak season, hotel and guest houses are fully booked. Luckily, our guide helped us find a place to stay for 2 days. We rest for few hours and start to tour the place. The weather is HOT and COLD  In […]
