Must Try Egyptian Desserts For Travellers

Budget Travel/Food/Travel Tips
Must Try Egyptian Desserts For Travellers

Before our trip to Egypt, I was only looking forward to two things- first, to see the Great Pyramids of Giza since it is arguably the most staple destination of Egypt and second, I was really looking forward to experience the street scene of Cairo by going on a street food trip. Although a lot of travel advisors say that it’s not very safe to eat just anywhere in Egypt, I was still however confident to go on a food trip just because I got a first-aid medicine at hand just in case my stomach goes bad. Luckily, I did not get diarrhea during my whole trip because I avoided the Egyptian tap water as much as possible. I know Egypt is a historic and exotic place and I expect the same with their food; that’s why I was very excited to get the opportunity to finally travel there and see the ancient sites firsthand and not just see it in some postcard or in a children’s encyclopedia. Sure enough, when we got to Cairo, the first thing we went to see are the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx in Giza, situated just a few kilometers away from the City […]

Britain on a Budget for Overseas Travelers

Budget Travel/Europe
Britain on a Budget for Overseas Travelers

From my childhood, Britain had always seemed to cross my path in one way or another. Be it the stories recounted by my relatives who had been there or the regular canning I received from a British nun at my convent. Thus, my fascination with Britain began long ago, and it only got compounded by the numerous story books, TV shows and films I have come across ever since. So about a year back I decided to visit the place physically for once and not just through other’s eyes and/or minds. But as we all know, an overseas vacation is rarely cheap, especially if you are a student. So after doing a year’s worth of odd jobs and breaking out my savings I saved up a decent amount. Even a few friends decided to tag along, as it is always cheaper to travel in groups. But just to be on the safer side I checked online to see if there were any deals or discounts for overseas travelers like us, and what I found was the Golden ticket to Britain on a Budget. This was the ‘English Heritage Overseas Visitor Pass’ which is a Sightseeing discount pass for overseas travelers […]

Top 5 Travel Destinations in The Philippines

I have been to several parts of the Philippines, and I’ve seen its wonders. Among all the places I visited, below are the top 5 that leaves a good impression to me. 1. El Nido, Palawan Consists of several breath-taking islands, el nido is truly a paradise. I love the blue sea and the greenest mountains. People in this place are all nice and very accommodating. 2. Puerto Princesa, Palawan – Not much to see, but I enjoy the city tour, firefly watching, crodile farm, as well visiting historical places. This is also where the famous Underground River is located. People are very friendly. 3. Sagada, Mountain Province – If you’re a person looking for an adventure, I would highly suggest this place. You will do trekking, spelunking, hiking, and more! Visit the famous sumaging cave, bomod falls, hanging coffins and enjoy the breathtaking view of sunrise at kiltepan. 4. Cebu, Philippines – it has many stories to share. With its famous Magellan Cross, Basilica Minore Del Santo Nino, The Mactan Shrine in Lapu-Lapu City, Mactan Island Aquarium Museum in Lapu-Lapu City, Casa Gorodo and more. 5. Looking for Partner to Volunteer Abroad

Accomodations/Budget Travel/Destinations/Travel Tips
Looking for Partner to Volunteer Abroad

Anyone interested to volunteer abroad? I wanted to travel across Asia and also do some volunteering works while embracing their culture. But I don’t have anyone to go with me. It’s going to be backpacking. So if you are an adventure seeker, I would be very happy to go with you. This will be my plan. We can volunteer in Chiang Tai Thailand and Kanchaburi Thai(159USD, accommodation and lunch), as well Honoi, Vietnam for 2 weeks each at least. Since Chiang Rai is close to Burma/Myammar, we can cross the border thru Tuktuk to Burma and Laos, we can do sightseeing after our volunteering hours (can be weekend). From Chiang Rai, we can go to Kanchaburi Thailand(Shooting Location for the movie First Little Thing Called Love of Mario Maurer :D) for another 2 weeks. From here, we will proceed to Bangkok, since this is where the airport is located. Then, we proceed to Cambodia for short sightseeing and then fly to Vietnam perhaps take a train or bus. We can do 1-2 weeks volunteering in Vietnam. From Vietnam, we can do short sightseeing to Bali Indonesia, and then to Malaysia (last stop) – then go back to Philippines. This adventure […]

Pros And Cons Of Exchanging Money Overseas

Budget Travel/DIY Itineraries/Travel Tips
Pros And Cons Of Exchanging Money Overseas

From the hustle and bustle of Southeast Asia to the rustic charm of Europe, millions of travellers head abroad on sensational holidays each year. Of course, booking an overseas adventure takes a fair bit of preparation, with hotel accommodations, car hiring and airline reservations all factoring into the planning process. Not only is it essential to sort out the logistics of an international vacation, but careful attention should be paid to practical matters before leaving home. Chief among these concerns is determining whether or not to exchange currency in a foreign land. Exploring the Exchange Process International travellers often need to exchange their dollars for local currency. Many overseas adventurers simply pack a large amount of money and exchange it upon touching down on foreign soil. Most international airports have exchange facilities in arrivals terminals and can help voyagers sort out their currency needs before venturing onwards. Perhaps the greatest benefit of exchanging cash in the airport is simply the convenience factor. Many travellers do not know how to exchange currency in Australia. Some international visitors will even make several trips to local exchange facilities, exchanging money as the need arises. Exchanging Cash At Home Taking large amount of Australian […]

How To Travel Alone With Confidence

How To Travel Alone With Confidence

When you are traveling alone, it can be a scary but liberating experience all at the same time. After all, you should never hold yourself back from traveling because a partner, spouse or friends do not want to go along. If you stand tall and appear confident when you go, you will not have any problems. Lots of people travel alone, and you can too. All you need to do is make a decision that you want to travel alone, book your plans and go for it! Walk With Confidence When you are traveling alone, hold your head high! If you walk around with your head down, people will portray you as a non-confident person. Walk down the street and own your power by holding your head up high and facing the people you see. Square up your shoulders, stand up straight and move ahead acting like an experienced traveler. Make Eye Contact Look people directly in the eye when you see them. Think about where you are first, because in some cultures, it is rude to look people in the eyes. In most cases, you do not want to look away from people. You have a more confident appearance […]
