Take a Tour at the Stirling Castle

Travel Tips
Take a Tour at the Stirling Castle

Scotland was home to its very own set of powerful and unforgettable kings and queens. A number of which lived and was crowned at Stirling Castle located in Castle Hill, one of them was Mary, Queen of Scots herself. Historically and architecturally speaking, this castle is one of the largest and most important even till today. Not only that, but along with being surrounded by three sides of steep hills, it had one of the most strategic and safe locations which served the royals well.

Tours are available all year round, but the times do vary. The tour is also fit for children, you’ll find it quite merry and enjoyable since the staff that’ll tour and welcome the visitors are dressed accordingly to the 16th century life. You’ll see everyone from court officials to maids of honor. They’re not just for show, they’ll tell you the tales in the castle which happened oh so many years ago.  While you and your family are there, the children can also be part of history as they dress among the royals and play a tune on the medieval instruments. The tour’s highlight include the Great Hall, Chapel Royal, Tapestry Studio and many more. You’ll witness and see for yourself the grandeur of a life of a royal as the evidence are displayed in every painting, every furniture of every room and at the interior and the halls. Outside you will see the breathtaking gardens while unwinding in the cool breeze.

All the excitement can make anyone hungry, luckily there are restaurants available which will serve you Scottish meals. There are also three gift shops containing a wide array of souvenirs that you can purchase as a remembrance of the beauty and wonder of Stirling Castle.
