Where to Find Cheap Car Rentals

One of the best ways to go about in your destination when travelling is by car. But bringing in your own car can be quite expensive. Luckily, there are car rental services that you can consider during your trip. But how do you go about finding cheap car rentals? Read on and find out for yourself.

Go online

One of the best places to start finding car rental is through the Internet. Most car for hire companies offer cheap deals during holidays. Some even include airport pick-up and if you are willing to shell out extra cash, you may even get a GPS system. To ensure that you get cheaper rates, book your car a few months before your expected trip. Prices of car rentals may increase as a result of high demand during certain periods.

Try a local agency

At best, avoid car rental services offered by airports and tourist destinations in the country. The cost of rental could be high. You are better off checking car rental companies in town areas as the price is cheaper. The important thing is to ensure that they are government certified and running in good condition. Get the agency’s phone number before leaving the place so you can contact them in case of untoward incidents.

Find a tour agency

Another way to find cheap car rentals is through a tour agency. Some companies offer car hire services or discounts to customers who inquire for details. If you are going on vacation with a tour agency, check if they can provide you with a car as well. Who knows? You might even get a discount as tour agencies have a lot of contacts in the transportation sector

Go with the larger car rental companies

There are always benefits in considering a larger car rental company since they have a wider choice of pick-up and drop-off locations. Most US rental agencies have European offices as well as the two biggest Europe based agencies Europcar and Sixt. They always provide a replacement car in case your car gets into trouble. But always go for companies that ply the areas you are driving.

Consider a consolidator

With a consolidator, you are sure that the rental cost is really affordable. These companies compare rates, find the best deal, and pass the savings to you. However, while this may a cheaper option, you are bound to be charged with unexpected fees so do inquire about add-on fees or restrictions ahead of time. Do not sign unless everything has been cleared up. Consolidators can help intervene in case of problems with the rental company.

Finding cheap car rentals can be easier with these options. Driving a vehicle during your vacation can allow you to explore the various sites that the area has to offer.
