Different Types Of Secure Equipment Cases

Adventure Travel/Travel Tips
Different Types Of Secure Equipment Cases

Security needs to be a focus wherever you go. Whether you’re traveling by foot, car, plane, train, or any other mode of transportation, you have to choose a case that secures your equipment. You cannot take anything for granted. Each step you take creates a vibration and this vibration can become extensive enough that it damages your equipment.

Travelling

When you choose secure equipment cases, there are a few things you need to consider. Your case has to be secure enough to:

– Take with you on travel
– Handle being moved by different people
– Withstand the environment you expose it to
– Be strong enough to last

A soft-padded case is likely not going to work when you’re talking about security. You can’t expect the soft pads to hold up against being tossed around in baggage claim or being strapped to the roof of the hum-vee while you make your way out to the middle of the desert.

Whether you’re in computers, medicine or any other industry, you have to know what kind of environment you’re going to be up against. This includes during transport as well as once you arrive to your destination. The equipment case is meant to keep your equipment secure for as long as you are being transported as well as whenever it’s not in use.

Shipping Cases

Shipping cases are able to be shipped to your destination. These can be effective and productive because your equipment will be shipped to where you’re going. You can pick up your equipment when you arrive and then proceed to your destination. Common features found on shipping cases include:

– Meeting ATA-300 specifications
– Spring-loaded handles
– Padlock-able
– Rubber gaskets
– Military-style latches

When you choose a shipping case, it needs to be reusable and economical. You can find a finish that is resistant to heat as well as various solvents. You don’t want your case blistering or peeling if someone drips a chemical on it or it is left in the sun. Additionally, if you have heat or cold sensitive products in the case, the case should be able to withstand various temperatures without affecting anything inside. This is why it’s a good idea to be on the lookout for rubber gaskets. It will help with temperature control as well as dirt and moisture.

Carrying Cases

Carrying cases are a completely different type of case. You’re not focused on making sure they can be transported by the masses. Instead, you’re focused on comfort because you’re going to be carrying them with you. If the items inside the case are too heavy or the case is too awkward of a shape, then it needs to have wheels or some kind of strap to make it easier for you to carry. Some of the features found on carrying cases include:

– Rugged wheels
– Ergonomic handle
– Lightweight material
– Adjustable carrying straps

When you look at a carrying case, you have to be sure it is something you’re comfortable toting from location to location. Read the specifications and find out if it is something, you can handle and something you will be comfortable carrying. Once you buy the case, there may be no returning it, so it’s important that you choose properly.

Custom Design

Many people are getting into custom designs for equipment cases. You may be carrying something entirely different from the next person. Whether you’re carrying an ultrasound machine, a computer, a digital camera or anything else, you want to be sure it is well-protected. You can customize the size of the case as well as the foam inserts inside. Identify everything you need to carry or ship and then determine what elements the case will be exposed to. The more you identify now, the easier it will be to get the case you need.

Companies will customize the secure equipment case in a variety of ways. You can choose the size, color and interior cut-outs. You can even have your logo included on the side of the case and choose the type of lock you want on the case.

You need to focus on security and knowing the different types of cases helps tremendously; check them out here http://www.sierracases.com/19-inch-rack-mount-transit-cases/.
